Sketches

Here are some of my primarily sketches before proceeding to the photoshop software

1st Image: Reincarnation

The first idea was to have a grave yard scene to potrait salvador dali's late brother. However i find the its rather too direct. Hence, i came out with another idea.


Finally i ended up with the idea of a n egg with Salvador Dali sitting in side waiting for its turn to be born. The initial idea was to have tracks rotating in the egg showing a cycle however i find it confusing to my massage and eliminated the tracks.

2nd image: Spoilt

The first sketch idea i had in mind was to portrait salvador dali as a horse running wild freely. Distorting the body shape, manipulating the front body to the back and back body to front indicating that he is able to do anything freely before the arrival of his sister which is the butterfly.

With some discussion with the professor, i decided to change the idea changing from a horse to a bird representing Salvador Dali and a butterfly to a flower. The bird represent freedom and the flower shows beauty and specialty of the sister to his parents.

3rd Image: Characteristic

To portrait Salvador Dali affection to torturing, i decided to use skull and blood to portrait him.

4th Image: The exibition - first step

To portrait Salvador Dali's first exhibition, i decided to use a staircase showing the step by step of heading to his dream and within the stair case displaying a miniature of people and paintings.

5th Image: The change

The cocoon in the image represent Salvador's new life and the female leg represent his mother which gave a huge impact on him after she pass away with breast cancer. I decided to manipulate the cocoon showing Salvador's Dali head sticking out of it to show that he is ready for a new life ahead.

In summary, these sketches are the planning and starting point for this assignment before i start on the photoshop and photo searching. By having a plan, i am able to work smoothly in the next stage.
